R2E Academic Team
Teacher applications for the 26/27 Fall & Spring Semesters are open!
Right2Education's classes are taught by a team of volunteer teachers, many of whom are university students in Amsterdam. Teachers work in pairs, teaching a class of around 25 students at various levels of English or Dutch. Together, they plan and deliver every lesson, with the support of professional trainers and our Teacher & Academic Coordinators.
Currently, applications are open for teaching in the 26/27 Fall Semester (November-December), or in the Spring Semester (Feb-May). We are looking for motivated individuals that resonate with R2E’s mission for education, inclusivity, and community.
For more information, please consult the application forms or the FAQs below.

Previous teaching experience is not required, but appreciated. You do not need professional experience, but any work dealing with languages, NGOs, teaching, tutoring, or education can be advantageous. We consider every application on a case-by-case basis, so do not be discouraged if you have never taught before!

Since classes are three hours long and twice a week, you are required to commit 6 hours to teaching every week. Alongside this, we estimate around 4 hours of weekly work to prepare the lessons and homework. In addition, grading tests or exams may increase the workload in specific weeks. Overall, the teacher position would constitute a 10 hour weekly commitment.

Our teaching positions are all voluntary (unpaid) but some of our teachers are part of a course/university degree that includes an internship or volunteering project. Where necessary, we will fill in all the supervisor forms for this project. For students at Amsterdam University College, the (16-week) experience can be counted towards the Community Project/Internship requirement
